Iris participated in MATHCOUNTS competitions from 2019 to 2021. She hoped to see more female students participating in math activities and competitions. This award was established to encourage and recognize female students who pursue excellence in mathematics.
The award honors the Highest-Scoring Female Students in the MATHCOUNTS Competition at the Washington State level and within the Seattle, Lake Washington, and North Puget Sound Chapters.
- Beginning in 2027, the award will also be extended to include the Mount Rainier Chapter.
